In the third day (2009-9-12) morning, we had a good local delicacy 粉皮.
After breakfast, we drove to Baishi (about 40 minutes east, see maps above). Then we had 11 people riding in 2 cars and 1 motorcycle to go into local villages to find my relatives. (Complete pictures in albums at right)
Not too far in the north from Baishi, first, we visited a home of a 91 year old man with same last name at Poping village (坡坪村). He gave us a Woo's family tree book to read.
Further north, we visited a Village Committee at Leyi Village (樂義村). A group of old men with same last name came to meet us. Nowadays, only old people, women and young kids stay in villages. Young people work outside in big cities.
We went further north and into more remote area. We passed Dazhai Village (大寨村), where ChenSS's family lives, and there is no Woo family here. We went to final destination, Fulong Village (扶龍村). However, the person in charge of the Village Committee was not there and was in Bashi for a wedding.
We had lunch at Baishi town. The whole search team was pictured in front of restaurant. The owners and workers of the restaurant also took pictures with us.
